Lawyers for Business (LfB), a Birmingham-based company which provides legal services nationwide, has appointed a new director to expand its operation.
Chris Wright, a corporate specialist, was a partner in a City law firm before returning home to the Midlands in 2006. In addition to being an experienced solicitor, Chris recently qualified as a notary public, the third, oldest and least well known branch of the legal profession, of which there are only 900 members in the UK.
Chris was invited to join the board of LfB earlier this year after less than 12 months as a consultant to the company. He says that he hopes to grow the company’s business with David Feenan, who established the company in 2007.
Chris said: “I am delighted to be involved with a company as innovative as LFB. The legal sector is changing and law firms must adapt if they are to survive in the ‘Tesco Law’ era. LFB is a new type of law firm and I believe that it is firms like ours that are the future of the legal profession.”
LFB is a virtual law firm. It maintains a central administration hub in Birmingham but the legal work is carried out by a group of highly experienced lawyers who work from personal offices across the UK.
Because of its structure, LFB is able to deliver the same high quality legal services as a large city practice, but without the big city costs.
